A WORLD OUT OF BALANCE

INTRODUCTION

The Egyptian Goddess Maat, is one of the most written about and most recognizable  of all the main goddesses of Ancient Egypt. The earliest records that mention the Maat, were found in the Pyramid texts of Unas and date back to  2375 BCE.  Maat was the daughter of the sky goddess Hathor and the sun god Ra. And she became the glue that held the Egyptian society together; the basis of law and morality. Maat  was also said to regulate the stars and the planets and so govern cosmic harmony and balance.

However the role that Maat is undoubtedly most know for, the one that has captured our imagination is Maat’s feather of truth, as it was called, being used in the weighing of the heart of deceased. Should the feather prove to be lighter, then the deceased wouldn’t make it into the paradise of the afterlife. Now right away this should raise questions and have you asking; what is this heart weighing ceremony really about?. Since there’s just no way that a human heart could weigh less than a feather. Not even if it was mummified and desiccated.

The image at the top of the post, is one which nearly everyone has seen. It is from one scene in Hunefer’s Papyrus from The Book of The Dead. In this scene, Hunefer’s heart (represented by a pot),  is being weighed against the feather of Maat. In the next scene seen in the full image, Hunefer is shown being lead away by Horus. after having his heart successfully pass the test.

So the weighing of the deceased’s heart was a very useful metaphor that served the moral application of Maat for Egyptian society. This however still leaves the explanation of how Maat was applied to cosmic balance. How did Maat regulate the stars?. What was that process and how did it work?. Since the heart weighing ceremony doesn’t explain Maat’s role in the story of the snake. We’ll get to that explanation later.

WHAT WAS MAAT GOD OF?

Maat was said to represented order, truth and justice, and a principled life. Maat  wasn’t only a goddess, she also became the most important guiding moral and ethical principle that all Egyptians were expected to follow in their daily lives, to act truthfully and honorably within the family and community.

However Maat’s primary role, was to regulate the stars in order to uphold harmony in the cosmos. She was responsible for maintaining cosmic balance and so prevent a return to chaos. Remember that chaos was the name of the state that  the Egyptians referred to that  was said to have existed before creation.

It’s easy to overlook this description of Maats primary role and relegate it to just ‘more off the same enigmatic Egyptian mythology.’

Because after all, how could a make believe goddess possibly have any effect on cosmic order?. Except that Maat was an ideogram that followed the same template , in exactly the same way as the hieroglyphs. Maat was created to tell a crucial part of the snake’s story. In fact  as long as Maat functioned correctly, the snake would be stripped off its power to cause chaos.

Isfet was chaos and disorder, the opposite of Maat and never far from the minds of the Ancient Egyptians. They believed that it was imperative that the pharaoh performed Maat on behalf of the  land of Egypt, the Egyptian people and the known world. Performing Maat was the solution for preventing  the known universe from returning  to its primordial state of chaos.. How Maat actually  maintained balance , I will explain once I’ve laid out the main parts of the snake’s story.

Maat’s feather of truth was an Ostrich Feather that was quite noticeably different from the feathers on her wings. Why the discrepancy?. Does it have any meaning, or were The Ancient Egyptians only using artistic license to add interest to their goddess?.

MAAT’S FEATHER

It’s now time to decode Maat’s ostrich feather and after that we’ll turn our attention to her incredible wings, Using the template that we now know the Ancient Egyptians used to create not only the hieroglyphs, but their deities as well. Because in doing so, this will illustrate Maat’s contribution to the story of the snake.

Ostrich feathers are known for their exceptional ability to remove dust..  That s because the tiny barbules on the Ostrich feathers are perfect for both picking up and holding onto even the tiniest particle of dust.  So in accordance with the template, the Ostrich Feather in Maat’s headband, represents the removal of something undesirable. That something were the negatively charged subatomic particles called electrons which are abundant in CMEs and certain other solar activity. These electrons amplify the CME while it is still in space and when it enters earth’s atmosphere as well as when they become a part of geomagnetically induced Telluric currents. Remember that it is these Earth Currents, (Telluric Currents) that create the interference that disrupts the  normal functioning of Earth’s Magnetic field.

This is of course a simplistic explanation, the physics being much more complex. Fortunately its not necessary to go through a full on geophysics course or a course on space weather,  in order to be able to understand Maat’s role. Once we apply the template, we can see that Maat’s function was to provide the balance needed for earth to maintain it’s magnetic field and the planets stability.

I promise that each succeeding element of the snake’s story, whether its a deity orv some hieroglyphs or something else,  adds to the understanding of what. has been previously discussed. So the whole becomes increasingly clearer the more we advance.

MAAT’S WINGS: MEANING

Maats’ very large wings, interestingly are not portrayed as being an integral part of her body. That is to say in the same way that Egypt’s half human, half animal gods were portrayed. For example think of how the God Horus is the clearly portrayed as. falcon, or how it would be impossible to think of the god Thoth without seeing that large beak of the ibis where Thoth’s head should be.

Another important detail about Maat’s wings, is the lack of any suggestion  that her wings are connected to any one particular specie of bird, or that they’re about flying.  Therefore the template is not asking us to focus on a particular bird or it’s flight. That gives us the clarity about just how the template is being used to give information about  Maat. It is the movements of a bird’s wing that we need to focus on. And that tells us what happens during the movement of Maat’s very large artificial wings.

When Maat’s moves her wings to the positions in which the Egyptians portrayed them, this is meant to illustrate her collecting and directing currents of negatively charged particles, to  lessen their ability to coalesce and further amplify the already dangerous CMEs and other solar activity.  Maat’s wings are also collectors of electrons, just on a much bigger scale than her single ostrich Feather.

A WORLD OUT OF BALANCE

If you’ve ever heard the phrase; ‘a world out of balance,’ then you most likely know that it is a saying that is associated with the Native American Hopi Tribe, not Ancient Egypt. Nevertheless, one of the four central contributing causes in the story of the  snake, is about a world out of balance. And it refers to the extreme tilt or obliquity of the earth on its axis, as a result of Axial Precession more commonly called The Precession of The Equinoxes.

The Hopi Legend that corresponds to this is called Koyaanisqatsi And it is in fact echoing the snake’s story that was told to the Hopi ancestors a long time ago by travelers with ties to Ancient Egypt. The Hopi, like the Egyptians, have changed, or most likely forgotten, the original meaning of a world out of balance. And so have substituted their own explanation that it refers to humans having strayed from the path of morality and consideration of the earth top cause the planet to be destroyed.

The world out of balance is no more about the immorality of some humans, than it was about the imbalance of  a dead persons heart causing an imbalance. Again, I’m going to repeat the true meaning so that there is confusion. The terminology “A  world out of balance,”  refers to the extreme tilt or obliquity of the planet as it precesses and orbits round the sun. And it is this extreme tilt along with earth’s  weakening magnetic field; a particularly powerful CME, plus one other vent that could spell big trouble for humans and the planet.

AXIAL PRECESSION; AKA PRECESSION OF THE EQUINOXES

The image shows the precessional movement of the Earth. The white arrows show the earth’s 24 hour rotation around its own rotational axis, (red arrows). This axis ( white circle) is also rotating slowly to complete one full rotation in roughly 26,000 years.

.

So how on earth did the Ancient Egyptians come by this knowledge of astronomy more than four thousand years ago?. I’m going to suggest that you continue reading the story of the snake to get all of the information before you come to your own conclusion. I understand that its easy to dismiss the suggestion that the hieroglyphs and Egyptian art on the walls of temples and tombs could really  be holding astronomical information that is so complex and detailed.

Everything that we’ve been told about Ancient Egypt has been firmly focused  on proving and supporting the theory that  Egypt was a society, that in spite of having accomplished so many incredible things, was still one that was unsophisticated ( unlike our own ) and driven by baseless mythology. Confirmation bias means that Egyptologists and language specialists  continuously look for, and interpret finds, to support the preconceived beliefs about mythology.

The acceptance of the translation of the Rosetta Stone and the hieroglyphs as the only record of what the Ancient Egyptians had to say, has locked away Egypt’s secret records from us for centuries. These are records that we desperately need to understand and use on our path going forward. And there’s little time left before we could completely miss the mark to our own detriment, as you’ll see as more and more of the story of the snake unfolds.

Back in 2000 Nasa reported that the earth’s axial spin had reversed direction and instead of it’’s normal westward trajectory, was now speeding eastwards.  Scientists have pit this down to excessive construction in china and India and the  resulting pumping of underground water changing the earth’s mass and causing a re-distribution of the planet’s weight.

Could this be the only, and more importantly the correct explanation?.
