The Power of Intention
Much is been made of Intention in the Spiritual Community, but what exactly is intention?. Is it’s meaning only limited to the dictionary definitions?: According to a variety of those definitions, intention can be understood as; a determination to act in a certain way; the thing that you plan to do or achieve : an aim or purposean aim that guides action: an objective. Each these definitions contribute something to that underlying subliminal understanding that makes intention so powerful. Especially when it is used deliberately and consciously as an act done with spiritual awareness. Such as advancing along the path to the final goal of spiritual self realization or in creating and manifesting. Since the definition of intention is based on the context in which it is used, I am going to focus on how the correct spiritual understanding of intention adds wings to any goal. Intention carries with it a powerful blend of passionate belief, focus, determination, entitlement and expectation. It is the ultimate power word and word magic all rolled into one. Having all the necessary ingredients that transforms it into an unstoppable force.
Many self help theories, focus on visualization and the use of positive words when teaching how to create and manifest. And these two actions alone will often work for some in many circumstances. However using the full power of Intention transports manifesting any goal to an advanced level. Especially when the goalseems elusive, it is the perfect antidote to a mistaken belief system that espouses the happy, hopeful positive language only and and the endless repeating of affirmations. Intention is the grown up version of wishful thinking. It effortlessly removes the focus on an outside force power granting a wish, to that exact internal force or power that every human being possess. Intention is a take no prisoners approach that lays waste to any doubt that the goal might be too big or undeserved. You see Intention is no shrinking violet. To stand in one’s intention, is to use the Law of cause and Effect precisely and effectively. Clear, unwavering and determined intention is like a laser beam, or even a laser-guided missile. Learn to use intention is this way and you become a master at manifesting
When intention is used at the start to accomplish a goal, like a master of ceremony, it initiates the right attitude in the mind and informs the very universe itself, of what is about to go down; what has already gone down in the creative dimension and therefore what to expect. Intention says “It is already done and I know that nothing can deter my goal so clear the way and send it now!,” quite the opposite of patiently wishing and hoping. Intention allows those who use it’s full power to obtain a glimpse of the pure consciousness that they are, in the act of powerfully creating.
In the Bible much is made of faith, which is a combination of absolute knowing certainty, and expectation which are the two main ingredients of intention. Now even though the Bible directs the believers to look to a God outside of themselves, it is specifically the act of believing, that allows the desire to manifest. This is the explanation why people with many different belief systems, can all call miracles into their lives. It is the unmovable nature and the focus of the belief that counts. One person might belief that ingesting ground lizards or a specific type of leaves will cure an incurable disease, while othermight belief that taking a certain supplement is the answer and a third prefers to focus on religious prayer. All will succeedas long as they have faith or true intention as they employ their respective belief systems. Now the Bible sates that faith can move mountains, yet faith sometimes goes unrewarded. Why? I would like to suggest that faith is actually not as certain or as strong as intention. That is because for those who use faith and prayer, the answer is always up to God’s will. So In spite of God being loving, a believer is obliged to believe that faith is still no guarantee.
This is similar to those who having not stood in firm intention and manifested their desire, imagining that some thing outside reason has resulted in it’s denial. The followingquote by Franz kafkasums this up. “By believing passionately in something that still does not exist, we create it. The nonexistent is whatever we have not sufficiently desired.” This reminds us that intention encompasses passion. And passion by it's very nature is a burning, focused and unrelenting desire. Intention in the guise of passion has no off switch. It recognizes no other creator than itself. Herein lies the problem for those who cannot believe that they are in charge of creating their own reality. When all around there are credible threats to life, they fall back on the comfort of believing that some greater force is in charge because they just cannot grasp that the force whose help they entreat, is inside themselves. Intention says "I am, and I know that I am, and I know that I can do this."
The secret of Personal Power
“All power is from within and therefore under your control."
“If you don't make things happen then things will happen to you. ”
Robert Collier
In his great book Think and Grow Rich, Napolean Hill amply illustrates all the ingredients of Intention even though he does not name the operating ingredient as such. As stated, intention is more that any one part of the process. It is the totality of the process. Intention is the starting point, the operating system, the vision, and the take no prisoner approach. One cannot intend some result in a puny half hearted manner. Intention has only one mode of being, and that is all in.
So how does one intend?. Consider some of the more expanded features and ability of intention. It is the line drawn deeply in the sand between any opposition, questioning or doubt. Intention is the force that moves mountains. If you wish to manifest some special thing, I suggest that you earnestly contemplate this statement, until the light bulb turns on. This will be far more effective than ten thousand affirmations, or wishing, hoping or taking unguided physical action. “Intention is the force that literally moves whatever mountains that have had the bad form to place themselves in your path.”
It is the idea that is boldly and perfectly expressed by a simple two or three word vernacular phrase. The first is, “hell yes; and when the opposite is needed, intention then becomes; “ oh hell no.” This is less about the words that are used and all about the attitude that goes along with either of these two declarations. When the attitude is so clear, unwavering and confident then it no longer matters that a negative is used. It is the feeling and the emotion that provides the fuel, which is exceedingly more effective over any positive words uttered in a lukewarm matter. I havemanifested many extraordinary creations using a forceful negativestandpoint. Some were accomplished in childhood when I did not know that this way of creating existed and only with hindsight, realized the power of emotions to command results. So I have known for some time that the idea of using only positive words, is just an idea that seems rational butnot necessarily the only one that works. Sometimes having something to push against is actually quite helpful. There is however one caveat; never fight with yourself, as fighting with yourself is about doubt not certainty.
In Think and Grow Rich, the story of the small child sent by her mother, a share crop tenant farmer, to ask for fifty cents from a mean spirited farmer and land owner, skillfully portrays one the inherent quality of the ‘take no prisoners, sense of entitlement which is bound up within intention. Upon hearing the first no, the child loudly re-states the intention with which she originally set out to extract that fifty cents that her mother needed, from someone, who was older, more privileged and far far more powerful that herself. She had more than enough reason to be doubtful, fearful and to allow herself to be easily dismissed. However she intended to leave with the money that she went into the barn to get from the farmer. So in response to his attempt to deny her, she screamed at him her version of “Hell yes,” and despite himself, and his first thought of taking a switch to her, he found himself giving in to a small child over whom he had absolute power. He had no choice but to give her the money she demanded from him. That little girl had no doubt in her mind that she was going to get that fifty cents and take it back to her mother. The mean-spirited landowner was her personal mountain and she leveled him.
Many societies teach us that it is wrong to feel deserving; that humility is the state of being to strive for. This results in disaster for humanity in the form of false humility parading as virtuousness. And broken beings who believe that misfortune is deserved, especially when it happens to others, or a part of God's plan when it happens to the self. However love, an ingredient in intention, trumps humility. Love is the first and only commandment to live successfully in peace with the earth, with others and with yourself. Love for oneself is an essential gateway to be able to use intention and be able to say "I deserve this." Love for others is the moral compass that guides one to intending only those things and conditions that cause no harm to others.
One part of my intention for this post and the explanations of true intention is to provide new focus for readers that will enable them to create and manifest a rich and rewarding life in which consciousness connects to awareness and becomes the everyday sense of self. For anyone who as ever failed to achieve a desired goal, knowing and understanding the real power of intention can in the future effectively silence fears and doubt. My other intention is for this post to serve as the appetizer for the full in depth feast that explains how to develop the habit of consistent manifesting and advancing on the path to wisdom and full entitlement, in a subsequent post titled “Manifesting like a Magician, “ This post will be available in the Illuminarium section of this blog. In that post I teach an easy step by step methods on how to set powerful intention to manifest desires. The universe creates with minimum effort and always takes the easiest. route Likewise you should learn to manifest using the law of least effort
