NUT THE MILKY WAY GODDESS
The Goddess Nut symbolized the sky and all the stars and planets. In Ancient Egyptian astronomy, Nut was associated with the universe. The Biblical Land of Milk and Honey was a metaphor for the milky appearance of the arms of our galaxy with the golden bar at its center, that the Ancient Egyptians saw in the sky. After the Exodus, the Israelites appropriated this metaphor for their own use.
