How to Meditate Like A Master; Do it in 21 Days
I know that you’ve already asked yourself the number one question about meditation; And that question is “How should I meditate?. Until you understand the changes that meditation is meant to bring about, then you’re more likely than not just marking time as you sit in silence attempting to quiet your mind and hoping that something divine happens. Everything in creation references, and is manifested by energy, light and vibration. And meditation which is an instinctual act, is no different. It causes physical, mental and spiritual shifts in energy. consciousness and the vibratory frequency of your body. Once you know the steps to create this energy, and you practice those steps, you’re going to understand and see deep effective meditation in a whole new light. My intention in this post is to teach the art of deep effective meditation through a 5 step plan
What is meditation.? Meditation is an introspective, spiritual and psychological practice. It is done with the goal of connecting with, and understanding the inner or higher self. Meditation supposes that this higher self is connected to The Source of all creation. For spiritual Seekers, Meditation is the process by which more light is brought into the body. This light is Consciousness, and it’s increase in the body raises the vibrations of the physical body which becomes a trigger for other milestones in the spiritual evolution of the human being.
THE 5 STEP PLAN
STEP 1 - STOP YOUR USUAL MEDITATION EFFORTS FOR THE NEXT 21 DAYS
This the all important first step that is going to interrupt your old mental habits and any failures associated with those habits. …………… Instead of meditating, perform the exercises that are given in steps 2 - 5. In the same sequence given, for 15 -20 minutes at each session A new habit takes roughly 21 days to be fully integrated and accepted. in order to transform your meditation into a spiritually enlightening and health enhancing practice, you will need to commit your time and effort. You must set aside at least 15 -20 minutes without fail…. every day to do the exercises in each step for the full 21 days. Procrastination and half-hearted efforts will cause you to fail, every time. if learning how to meditate effectively is your goal, then Get serious and commit . Pursue your goal with single mindedness until you achieve it.
STEP 2 - PRACTICE CONTEMPLATION & MINDFULNESS THROUGH REGULAR SELF TALK
Effective and satisfying meditation is not achieved just because you desire it, instead it begins long before you sit down in silence and it needs preparation. This preparation is best realized through contemplation or inner self talk. Naturally such inner talk will include questions about, meditation, Contemplation or deliberate inner conversations, create the state of Mindfulness, which invites and precedes the responses and interactions with, your higher self. The most common reason why many people fail to meditate effectively, is that they feel uncomfortable and stressed from being alone with themselves in silence. Prior deliberate self talk and contemplation solves this problem by building up a feeling of comfortable familiarity between all aspects of the self.
Engaging in inner conversation and contemplation , allows you engage with your inner child which resides in the right side of your brain, also known as the creative brain. Your right brain maintains a strong connection with your heart and your emotions. And it is this heart brain connection, that is so necessary to propel you to success and is so important to successfully perform the exercises in step 5. Have you ever noticed that when you’re happy you feel stronger, and have more mental clarity. happiness, gratitude and love are very strong energies or forces of emotion that affect your muscles, immune system and the frequency at which your body vibrates Your inner child as previously stated, is strongly anchored in love. It also goes by it’s more well known description of; “The subconscious mind.” With a little reflection it should be easy to see that the term “inner child” is nothing more than a metaphor for a state of purity, acceptance and being connected to one’s heart.
Great truths and powerful methods of accomplishing, are often the most simple. So simple in fact that the average person will ignore them believing that only those methods which are more complex have merit. Deliberate contemplation is extremely powerful that allows you to grow spiritually yet it is undervalued and often overlooked. Inner talk allows you to build the necessary relationship with yourself rather than having to face your inner self as a stranger when you attempt to meditate. Look at it this way. Would you suddenly invite a neighbor who you’ve never once spoken to, or even said hello to, even though you’ve lived next door to each other for your whole lives for a grand formal dinner at your house tomorrow night?. And if you did, how do you think the ensuing encounter would unfold?, Assuming of course that your neighbor accepted your very unexpected invitation and actually showed up?. Deep effective meditation needs preparation.
Mediation is not just simply sitting in silence with “no thoughts.” Meditation is an active process that unfolds after you’ve put in place the requirements for grace to transport you into a state of superconsciousness. Your Subconscious Mind, takes note of meditation as consisting of a set of actions, thoughts, beliefs and expectations that it will transform into a mental program. This is a critically important fact that must be taken into consideration in order for meditation to be successful. Your Subconscious Mind is very active in the outcome of your meditation efforts, so it is in your best interest to get to know your Subconscious before struggling to meditate without it. Since it is your Subconscious that decides how to encode your mental programs, emotions such as confusion, frustration, doubt and fear will be embedded on meditation program where those emotions were experienced, ensuring that every time afterwards that you attempt to meditate, you simply get more of those exact emotions.
STEP 3 - BREATHE DOWN INTO A RELAXED STATE USING SIMPLE WORD TRIGGERS
Focusing on the breath to relax is a great tool. However it doesn’t always work for everyone, or all the time. Neither does it always translate into deep relaxation. To practice this step, you’re going to add another layer so that focusing on the breathe to relax, works even better; Now here’s how to do the exercise. Sit quietly with your eyes closed. Breathe in calmly and deeply, and as you exhale, mentally say to yourself “Relaxing Now. This allows you to occupy and distract your Conscious Mind or “The GateKeeper” occupied with the focus on your breathing. Giving you the opportunity to speak directly to your Subconscious mind.
The self command “Relaxing Now,” results in dramatic and profound relaxation or at least quite quickly after a few more repetitions. In order to turn this word trigger into an automatic one when you meditate, all that you need to use is simple focused intention: and in between each cycle of inhaling and exhaling and stating the command “relaxing Now,” on the exhale then feeling your body relax, open your eyes and rouse yourself back to your normal state of alertness for a minute or two, and then repeating the cycle again 3 more times. The trigger will automatically take over, the more you practice this step. In fact what you’ll find as time goes on, is that you will begin relaxing even before you get through the first cycle, Eventually even before you’ve completed the thought in your mind that it is time for you to focus on your breathing relax. Which is exactly what you want to have happen, when you get ready to meditate.
Even without a spiritual goal in mind, regular meditation results in several beneficial health improvements that have already been clinically studied and measured. These health improvements occur because meditation causes a reduction in the output of the stress hormone called cortisol. This causes rids the mind of anxiety or greatly reduces the levels. Blood pressure and heart rate are also lowered, and insomnia is either cured or diminished. There are other anxiety-based illnesses which also improve with regular meditation and the ability to relax at will. imagine just how much more peace you will have in your life and how much more confident you’ll feel when you have this level of self control to be able to relax yourself at will?
STEP 4 -instantly QUIETEN YOUR MIND WITH SUBCONSCIOUS COMMANDS
The Subconscious Mind has been accused of being literal, however the truth is that it always sticks to the literal interpretation of your words and thoughts so as not to interfere with human freedom of choice, Some might also say that iThe Subconscious sees the “hidden meaning in words;” that is only because most humans do not pay enough attention to the words and thoughts they express. Thoughts incidentally are just words that have not been expressed outwardly so that the energy in the thoughts is more focused inside of the person who holds them…… Here is an the idea that I want you to consider; It is that meditation and everything divine happens in the space between thoughts…… It is in that space when the Conscious mind is still and quiet, that it then has the potential of seeing through the veil……… and inspiration and mystical experiences can enter into the Conscious Mind
Your brain is both a projector and a receiver that is constantly relaying these thoughts to the sensitive receptive membrane of your mind. This receptive membrane is not a physical one but rather a psychically held one. For example when we see something with the mInd’s Eye, we see the image projected on this very same membrane. In this step you’re going to once again use the fact that the Subconscious Mind controls the Conscious mind and body, to your advantage. This is going to take your meditation practice to the next level. This step was born from serendipity. Over time through practice and mind focusing exercises, I had managed to became fairly good at controlling the unwanted flow of thoughts when I meditated, I was always searching for ultimate control to stop all thoughts from entering my mind for as long as I chose. One day the lightbulb went off in my head;…….. Why not just simply tell the subconscious mind to stop the monkey mind and it’s endless meaningless chatter?. The Subconscious is after all the boss. I did and it worked like pure magic.
That dependable feature of the Subconscious mind for alway being literal was all it took to shut down the monkey mind. Here’s how: To do the step, sit in silence with your eyes closed. Breathe calmly and easily down into the relaxed state as you did in the previous step. Once you’re calm and relaxed, repeat silently to yourself …………….“Im waiting for the next thought.” …………….. That’s it!.
The word “waiting,” is interpreted literally by your subconscious, as an ongoing state of incompletion. This obliges the subordinate Conscious Mind to “wait for the next thought!.”………. With practice, the next thought is delayed for longer and longer periods until you control and you decide …………………..when the next thought does in fact arrive. Now that you know how easy it is to control your mind, you’re going to add progressive command phrases, that will allow you to extend the length of time in which you experience “no thought,” and also invite a deep level of interaction with your Higher Self. The phrases are constructed to act like a ladder. Each one allows a greater acceptance of the one that follows, to eventually take you into a state of complete mind control. Only progress to the next suggested command phrase when you have completely mastered the results from each phrase.
Do You Know?
Do you know that you are the light?. I mean really know it deep inside of you?. More than just a theory that sounds nice that you accept in a sort of oblique way?. You are absolutely the Light and if you look carefully inside you will see that Light.
USE THESE PHRASES IN THE SAME SEQUENCE
1. I am waiting for the next thought
2. I am now in the space between 2 thoughts
3. I wait calmly in this space of peace and love
4. In between 2 thoughts, I am consciously aware
5. In between 2 thoughts, I am inspired by my Higher Self
6. In between 2 thoughts, I am in complete harmony
It’s amazing how far you can take this, with practice, you can succeed in stopping all thoughts from entering your mind for long periods while remaining completely alert and aware. That is the extent of the control that the Subconscious has over the Conscious Mind and the physical body.
STEP 5 - THE HOLY GRAIL OF MEDITATION: THE CHAKRA LIGHT CONNECTION TO YOUR HIGHER SELF
Step 5 is the prime ingredient of this 5 step plan. Each of the prior steps have been the groundwork leading up to this step, where you put into effect the final piece of the plan that completes your preparation for grace to find you. This is by far my favorite spiritual exercise and exercise and it provides some very interesting results. When I’m doing it, I often cover my eyes with a padded eye mask or else I’ll throw a large towel over my head and shoulders to block out external light. Test for yourself whether covering your eyes is helpful to you. Now If you’ve never felt energy moving in your body, just know that with repetition this movement becomes very real. The energy usually presents as a feeling of nerve tingling or as a feeling of warmth or fullness as it moves up your spine As you practice this step keep in mind the dictum; “Where attention goes, energy flows.” The Chakras have the ability to hold greater amounts of energy, and then act like generators to amplify that energy .
Physical matter is a transmutation of light, which must first slow it’s vibrations down into sound, and from which it is then further slowed until it becomes matter that has mass such as your body. Humans have 3 aspects to their being; light, sound and physical matter. this is also known as “The Father (subconscious Mind ), The Son (the Conscious Mind) and The Holy Ghost, (Pure light Consciousness) This 3 fold aspect and the disconnect that the Conscious physical self experiences, is what is at the root of the need for the conscious Mind to know it’s complete self. And It is accomplishes this as it evolves into complete enlightenment and oneness with The Higher Self with the aid of “The father,” the Subconscious Mind.
This step consists of 2 separate yet related parts. In the first part, you’re going to use your imagination to feel the energy of consciousness moving between your heart and your brain. In the second part, you’ re going to feel the energy move up from your Root to your Crown Chakra.
That part of ourselves that we casually refer to as the Higher Self, is what we’re now going to create a deliberate connection with. This self, is Pure Consciousness and it manifests as light. As you’re no doubt already aware, light has the highest frequency of all vibrations. This incalculable amount of light, could never fit inside and be contained by your physical body any more than you yourself can trap light and keep it inside a paper bag or for that matter any other container. Since your physical body being matter vibrates at a much slower frequency. Pure Consciousness therefore actually sits outside of your body inside of your Crown Chakra and only a minute fraction of this light enters your body and animates it, via the Chakras or nerves of the Central Nervous System. In Eastern Spiritual Teachings, this light energy that sits just above the top of the head, is known as The 1000 Petalled Lotus……… In Christianity, this same light is represented in religious imagery as Halos…… that can be seen around the heads of Jesus Christ, the angels and some Saints, as it hovers over the crown of the head. No doubt there are those who have always had the privilege, or at least an inkling of the true nature of human beings, and the incredible potential power that humans have access to, through their connection to the awesome light which is Consciousness.
# 1Meditation Rule
"You only need to meditate 15 - 20 minutes daily. Unless you're too busy in which case you should meditate for at least an hour." ~ Unknown
The study of of anatomy and physiology clearly shows the pathway by which the Brain and Spinal Nerves, creates the mind brain body connection, along with the autonomic nervous system. This knowledge allows us to understand how this same pathway can show how the Brain and Spinal Nerves, control the changes that occur in states such as Enlightenment , Kundalini Awakening as well as The opening of The Third Eye, by acting on the glands of The Endocrine System. Meditation is meant to introduce a greater amount of light or pure consciousness into your central Nervous system and trigger changes within that system and by extension also the glands of your Endocrine System. This increase of light or pure Consciousness within the brain and body, begins through the simple act of regular and deep meditation and sets up a process that is known as “Enlightenment.”…………. which if we recall the habit of the Subconscious Mind of translating words literally, Enlightenment means to turn the light on from within.
FIRST EXERCISE OF STEP 5
To do the exercise; the first step is to imagine that there is an invisible switch that you flick on whenever you wish to turn on a golden white light in your 7 main chakras..
1. Perform the exercise in a very relaxed state of body and mind that you enter into after step 4.
2. Sit in a quiet place with your eyes closed, your spine erect and your head bowed slightly towards your chest.
3. Use your imagination to mentally look into your body focus on your heart .
4. Consciously make a silent acknowledgement that you’re about to consciously connect with your own Life Force energy.
5. Next again using intention, create feelings of gratitude and love for this energy.
6. Next fill your Heart Chakra with a feeling of joy and expectation.
7. Calmly keep practicing the sequence 6 or 8 times and then move on to the next part of the exercise
Calmly perform each of the mental and feeling actions as instructed until you feel that you’ve established a loop that connects your brain and your heart. This should take roughly 5 minutes. You should feel the connection as an actual pathway around which the energy of your thoughts and feelings move in a continuous loop. If you do not initially feel this energetic connection, there’s no need to worry or fixate about it. Usually by the second week you will find that you can indeed to feel the energy moving between your brain and heart. .
It is imperative to keep in mind that your imaginary actions are a request and not a strong arm tactic. You cannot force any part of this exercise to happen. Your periods of contemplation and self talk, will make it easier for you to create and then actually feel the energy moving in your body. For the second exercise in this step, letting go and trusting to grace is equally important. As you perform the following part of the exercise, see the third Chakra at the Solar Plexus and the forth Chakra or heart Chakra as the two largest points of light that emit the longest, brightest beam s of light.
SECOND EXERCISE OF STEP 5
When you’ve moved the energy up to your Heart Chakra, allow your attention to remain there as you feel the emotions of gratitude and love, for at least the next 5 minutes or, longer if you desire. This is a powerful exercise that increases self love and automatically extends love from your heart out into the entire planet, into the universe itself and to all beings
1.Turn your attention and imagination to the triangular space at the base of your spine and visualize a bright vibrating golden light energy resting there.
2. In your mind’s eye, imagine your seven chakras as light bulbs, each glowing with a golden white light and spaced intermittently along an invisible electric cord
3. See very bright beams of brilliant white light radiating out from the center of each Chakra.
4. Using your imagination, begin moving the the light energy up from the root Chakra to your Crown Chakra.
5. Once the energy in your spinal column reaches your Heart Chakra, then in your mind’s eye, see the light growing larger is size and much brighter in radiance.
6. You should also intensify the beams or rays of light that are emitted from your Heart Chakra and extend them out from your body into infinity, the whole earth and into all of the universe itself.
7. With your imagination move the energy up from your heart into your throat chakra (5th Chakra)
8. Continue to move the energy up to the space just above your 3rd Eye Chakra in the center of your forehead.
9. Imagine a powerful concentrated beam of brilliant white light exiting the central spot above your third eye, extending out into space.
10. Send the remainder of the light energy to continue it’s rise upwards until it exits out into your Crown Chakra.
You can repeat the sequence of moving the energy from The Root to Crown Chakra more than once. Initially however, just focus your attention and imagination on realizing each detail as best as you can. With practice and In time, the energy will rise up through your chakras at it’s own speed or determination, just allow it to do so. Another important change that will happen in it’s own time, is that as you integrate this exercise into your meditation it will take you into states of increased awareness from which you will emerge with inspired intuitive knowledge. You should continually add gratitude and love to the movement of the light energy and…. you should as well continue to set aside time for your inner self talk and contemplation.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
At the end of the 21 days of practicing, begin to meditate again. By then, you should have the beginnings of a solid habit where all the elements come together seamlessly without any further specific effort on your part And as long as you’ve practiced the steps faithfully in the 21 day period, your Subconscious mind will create the mental program. Your intuition and moments of inspiration and sychronicities will also increase in ways that you can quantify and prove to yourself. Letting go and allowing effective meditation to unfold. is the final ingredient in meditating like a master. Once again, you must keep ion mind that Any attempt on your part to force the results is doomed to fail. Spare yourself that lesson and just trust your inner self. Initially, you should aim to meditate for only 15 - 20 minutes each day and then increase your meditation time, if inspired to do so when the process has settled into an easy pattern. Tap into the bliss of meditation and into the incredible journeys into consciousness that deep meditation can take you.
In my meditation practice today more than a decade after my Kundalini Awakening, working with the light energy of Life Force inside my body, often translates to having flashes of immensely bright light within my head, seeing patterns of Sacred Geometry, involuntary kriya movements, inner visions and flashes of inspired wisdom, breathlessness and Samadhi states. I’ve become accustomed to finding myself traveling out into the cosmos. I’ve seen myself in other bodies even on other planets and in other dimensions. It was, and continues to be truly heady stuff that all started and remains deeply rooted in contemplation and deep meditation. When you increase the energy of consciousness inside of your chakras, it causes your physical being to vibrate at a higher frequency.
Once you understand that you are not your physical body, that you are instead the consciousness that sends Life Force into your physical form, a whole new world of abilities, far above and beyond meditating effectively and deeply, will open up to you. I know that you will soon have your own unique experiences when you put this 5 step plan into action , and it makes me very happy just to think that there are other human beings on their way to freeing themselves from illusion, restrictions and confusion. I really hope that you will allow this plan to guide you to meditation success, and that soon you too will experience the deep bliss of meditation and as many amazing experiences as I have. Once you learn how to meditate deeply……. you will no longer just be taking my word for it……….. I promise you that you will fly…………
