What if God Were All of us?

This is an excerpt from the book "What if God Were All of us."

When the mysterious unity between the soul and the Divine becomes clear, you will realize that you are none other than God. You will see all your actions as His actions; all your features as His features; all your breaths as His breath.”
— Sufi Master Ibn al Arabi

There is a very wide variety of humans who have walked the earth, or who are still here in bodies, who have all discovered the secret that are written about here. These immortal mortals belonged to just about all the major religions as well as being agnostics or atheists. from Ibn Al Arabi, Hafiz, Krishnamurti, Leo Tolstoy, Mother Teresa, Anthony De Mello, Paramhansa Yoganada, Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, etc., etc. The list goes on and on to include everyday men and women who have written innumerable books to tell of their found wisdom or of their being graced with the breath-taking illuminating vision of the 'ALL' and who have devoted themselves to the service of uplifting their fellow humans.

It obviously makes no difference how a person identifies themselves with any particular religion or not. What matters it seems, is deep self reflection and or meditation as well as an open heart ( in most cases, for some have had revelations that they did not actively seek). What is also inspiring is that none were 'perfect' from that point of view that we humans judge perfection, yet this state of 'human' imperfection did not prevent them from grasping and being inspired by the greatest truths. We are already whole, perfect and complete as the spirit beings that we really are, so the imperfection that the overlying flesh and senses cause, in no way diminishes our already perfect state of being. All we need do is is allow our spiritual wise selves to take the helm, instead of our egoic selves.

What if all that we had to do to know that we are already God, is to sit in silence and look within;  And listen.with an open heart and mind. Then, with no one there but ourselves,There would be no one who could confuse us or even attempt to persuade us. And what if we allowed ourselves to sit long enough to hear the answers, that with little or even no conscious encouragement, has since time immemorial, has been seeking to free us, from the nightmare that we have unwittingly created, and that relentlessly and cruelly deceives us.

Standing in the way of the greatest truth hidden in simplicity-the simple truth that we are already,  all that we yearn to be.Perfect, whole and complete. Our hidden and Divine nature, is good, loving, joyous - and powerful, just as God is. For we are God.

What if, that exhortation "thou shall not take the name of the lord thy God in vain."hid one very important clue to this greatest truth hidden in simplicity.what if, every time that we uttered the word 'God,'we did so in the full knowledge that that we are in fact speaking of ourselves, and that we should honor the inherent goodness that is God, the God that we are a part of.And to do otherwise would be to take the name of God in vain, in mockery. What if it meant whenever we utter God, that we should behave as the god we truly are, instead of fearing some implacable phantom of our own fear filled creation; And even more importantly, the great great secret.
That God is not God's name; it is not a noun, but that rather God is a verb that describes what that magnificent, incredible, awe-inspiring intelligent force, is.
What if, that one magical word 'God.'held a secret and a power so incredible that has been for centuries hid from most of humanity. So much so that we willing believed every lie that we have ever been told about it.And the greatest lie being that we should refrain from uttering this name. When just the reverse is the truth we seek, hidden in simplicity.

What if, on finding out about this powerful secret, we gave truth a test,By addressing ourselves as God, with faith and deep reverence, and doing so often. As often as we need to, until we feel the resonance of that magical word, the power that is called 'God.'Until we firmly lay hold of this previously inconceivable to us,  fact.that by calling ourselves God and doing so often - as a mantra; a habit. And as pure joy and delight in a newly discovered talent, and a  freedom,We find the priceless key.THE OPEN SESAME; The ABRA CADABRA. The only magic that is real.

There is only one power, one mind, from which all were created, so what else could we be but this same substance.?As we are one with our creator and endowed with the gift of co-creation, we can create our prisons or we can create freedom and peace. '        What if you dared to believe the scarcely believable - that you are indeed God.And daring to believe, discovered that no thunderbolts descended from that illusion in the sky, to strike you. Moreover, what if now daring and believing, this idea so preposterous, so ludicrous, laughable, so utterly ridiculous; your soul quietly said to you, in between the uneasy spaces of your laughter:"you are God." "You are whom I am."

"You are I am, that I am ."

Ah, but we have been taught and warned that the voice inside is a hallucination, not real and that it is to be paid no heed. And we know this to be wise and true, because those expert voices outside of us, told us this. The blind among us leading the blind that until hitherto, had also been us.The proof; humankind has listened in fear and obedience to the expert voices for centuries, and as we can plainly see, so far they have yet to mislead us. They are the unquestioned experts that we have carefully been taught to trust.

Yet what if that nagging ridiculous idea that we may be God, having now gained our attention; refuses to release us back into darkness. What if the most obvious course of action was to go along with this idea.just to see where it might lead us.After all we have tried other more baffling ideas to gain peace in our world and in ourselves, and maybe even a little happiness; And some of the things that we have tried, even at our most delusional, we knew to be truly horrific. So we have in fact already proven to ourselves that we certainly have the stomach for the ridiculous.

What if no quantum leaps or physics were needed to understand.....This greatest truth - that we are God - hidden in simplicity. That God is that primal substance that extended itself into all things; and from which all things are made, differing only in rates of vibration.
What if we could now at last finally see and understand. That God has been manipulated. that God has been lied on.
